In a world facing +4°C of global warming, an additional 1.8 billion people will suffer from hunger.
On the ground, the findings are clear: climate change is now one of the leading causes of malnutrition, alongside armed conflicts, lack of access to safe drinking water and economic crises.
Droughts, floods, storms, wildfires… The growing frequency of extreme weather events undermines food production, destroys natural resources and weakens infrastructure. These climate disruptions directly threaten the food security of the most vulnerable populations.
Our goal is clear: to contribute to carbon neutrality by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement.
Combating malnutrition requires addressing the root causes of food insecurity, foremost among them climate change. Nutriset is committed to delivering sustainable nutritional solutions while limiting the environmental impact of its activities.
To establish this pathway, Nutriset conducted a baseline Carbon Footprint Assessment in 2022, covering its 2021 activities. The assessment revealed that 95% of emissions come from the procurement of raw materials:
These findings helped identify priority areas for action to achieve a significant reduction in emissions.
The Taking Action for the Climate roadmap is based on concrete measures implemented across our entire value chain:
In 2023–2024, Nutriset followed the ACT – Accelerate Climate Transition methodology, developed by ADEME and CDP, to establish a robust strategy aligned with the Paris Agreement.
Targets for 2030 (compared with 2021):
A new Carbon Footprint Assessment will be carried out in 2025, covering 2024 activities, to measure progress, adjust the roadmap and ensure a credible and ambitious transition pathway.
By committing to its environmental transition, Nutriset is strengthening its ability to sustainably meet the nutritional needs of vulnerable populations.
