Nutriset renews its wind-powered shipment of nutritional solutions to Colombia

17 August 2026

For the second consecutive year, Nutriset has chosen wind-powered maritime transport to ship some of its nutritional solutions to Colombia. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to transitioning its supply chain towards increasingly responsible solutions.

This weekend, NewTowt’s sailing cargo ship left the port of Fécamp in Normandy, bound for Santa Marta, Colombia. On board were 21 pallets of nutritional solutions manufactured at Nutriset’s production site in Malaunay, intended for vulnerable populations.

This latest shipment followed an initial crossing completed in 2025 and confirmed Nutriset’s commitment to exploring alternative modes of transport to progressively reduce the environmental impact of its supply chain.

Nutritional solutions transported by the power of the wind

The 21 pallets loaded aboard NewTowt included several solutions designed to treat and prevent malnutrition: Plumpy’Nut®, Plumpy’Doz™, as well as the F-75 and F-100 therapeutic milks.

By once again choosing wind-powered maritime transport, Nutriset continued its commitment to developing a lower-carbon international logistics model.

This initiative also provided an opportunity to consider the entire life cycle of our solutions. Their impact depends not only on their formulation and production, but also on how they are transported to the regions where they are needed.

A long-term partnership

This second crossing was made possible through cooperation between three complementary partners: Nutriset, NewTOWT and Sanuteam.

NewTOWT, a pioneering French wind-powered freight shipping company, develops and operates modern sailing cargo ships designed to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of maritime transport. Sanuteam, Nutriset’s long-standing partner in Colombia, helps make nutritional solutions available to vulnerable populations.

Following their first collaboration in 2025, this latest shipment demonstrated a shared ambition: to transform logistics practices while ensuring the quality and availability of nutritional solutions.

Combining nutritional impact with environmental responsibility

For Nutriset, fighting malnutrition also means addressing the environmental challenges that directly affect the most vulnerable populations.

This shipment formed part of a broader approach aimed at taking action across our entire value chain and developing increasingly responsible nutritional solutions and operating practices.

This commitment was recently recognised with the EcoVadis Gold Medal, placing Nutriset among the top 5% of companies assessed worldwide for sustainability performance.

Reducing environmental impact while maximising nutritional impact: this latest crossing provided a tangible example of how Nutriset intends to transform its practices.

NewTowt has therefore once again set sail from Normandy. Next stop: Colombia, and fair winds to all the teams involved in this new crossing.
