On the occasion of the One Health Summit, Nutriset, in partnership with Fabrique OSH , is organizing a roundtable discussion on the theme: “Decarbonizing without Compromise: The Humanitarian Dilemma through the Lens of Nutrition.”
How can we reconcile climate ambitions, humanitarian needs, nutritional requirements, and decarbonization solutions in order to support the most vulnerable populations while preserving ecosystems?
The prosperity of tomorrow’s communities depends on the political, climate, agricultural, and humanitarian decisions made today. These choices can no longer be considered separately: saving human lives, protecting biodiversity, strengthening resilience, and preventing future crises are closely interconnected.
The debate between humanitarian urgency and environmental responsibility raises a real dilemma: how can practices evolve to provide more sustainable solutions without compromising the ability to save lives immediately?
Humanitarian nutrition, which brings together public actors, civil society, and the private sector, provides a valuable framework for reflecting on this balance. This roundtable is part of a broader reflection on food systems, the transition of agricultural practices, and emergency nutrition responses.
